I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a bigger set of Cooper STT Pro tires. I’ve been regretting getting a 275/65/18 (32in) from pretty much the beginning, although the Falken Wildpeak AT3W has been a fantastic tire, and I would highly recommend it to almost anyone out there.
Since I will be running in the Red Clay Rally, I wanted to wheel with something a little more aggressive lug on it and the STT Pro fit that bill. I’ve had them on for a week now, and so far I really like their road characteristics. For a mud tire, they really aren’t terribly loud. Don’t get me wrong, it’s definitely louder than the Falken’s or any other A/T I’ve run, but it’s not so loud that you have to yell to the person next to you either.
Some Basic Specs:
- LT 285/70/17
- Diameter: 33 Inches
- Tread Depth: 19/32
- Weight: 62LBS
I will have a more formal and through review later, and it will definitely be getting put through the paces off-road in May, so it should be a good one!
I like those sliders or nerf bars, and the way the are tight or close to the body and not sticking out to far. What kind are they and maybe what angle are they mounted?
Hi, Thank you! I am running the Shrockworks sliders. I don’t know the angle they’re mounted at but I do like them because of the low profile. One downside is the design for mounting them to the rails. Shrockworks uses a clamp style and it’s not particularly easy to install. I also found out down the road that they don’t play well with RCI Skids, in particular the crossmembers for the belly plates. I will say the sliders have been very stout though.
