We now had and were loving our new truck, we introduced a baby boy into our world and we couldn’t be happier with what we had. Of course, that was until I joined a forum, toyota-4runner.org (User Runn4est in case you were wondering) and I began to realize that we didn’t just buy a civilized “mall crawler”. I knew it was a tough truck, but I didn’t realize that we bought a vehicle that was made to stretch it’s legs off the pavement.
My imagination began to go crazy, and all I could think of was all of the cool things we would be able to do and experience. Things that not many people get to do. Pandora’s box was opened!
Clicking through the forums in awe, I quickly contracted a bug. This bug comes on quick and it hits you hard. You also won’t be able to shake it. Ever. The bug is the Mod bug, and with it comes a constant desire to add parts to your vehicle!
After some talking with my wife, we decided that our first mod would be a simple one — wheels and tires. This would give us better winter performance and would prime us for getting into the off-roading world.
Out with the old, In with the new.
