A few days ago, I finally got the shipping notice on my Prinsu Rack for my 4th Gen 4Runner. I was so excited for it to come in so I’d have a good weekend project. I also have a transmission skid from RCI Offroad that would get installed too.
Delivery day was here, and I heard a UPS truck pulling into our driveway. When the truck drove off, I anxiously went out to check out my new package.
Sadly, this is what I found. The package was completely torn in half. Fearing the worst, I notified the vendor, Catz Autosport (IG: @catz_autosport), I purchased from that I received a damaged package, and would follow up if the actual product was damaged. Immediately, Tom contacted CBI Offroad (Owners of Prinsu Design Studio) to let them know they may have a claim on their hands.
Turns out, there was significant damage to my rack. Not just a little scuff here or there — ruined.
That’s a picture of the main rails. Yes, they should be straight. After seeing the damage, Mike with CBI Offroad gave me a call and let me know that they would be sending out replacement hardware ASAP, and they would file the claim with UPS.
Although I’m back to waiting, and won’t be able to install the rack this weekend, I must say that I was very pleased with how helpful Tom with Catz Autosport and Mike with CBI Offroad were in this situation. They made a potentially sticky situation very easy. I will be giving CBI my business again when the time comes for our 5th Gen.
It’s too bad they’re so far away from me too, because they do some pretty sick custom work too.
I’ll be back when I finally get this thing installed!
